Systemic Sabotage: Exposing the Corruption that Stifles Black Excellence in DC Public Schools

As I write this blog post, I am still hurt that I was intentionally denied the Standing Ovation honor, a distinguished award that recognizes outstanding DC Public School (DCPS) employee contributions. The reason behind this denial is nothing short of indisputable REVENGE, and it sheds light on a deeper, more sinister issue that has been plaguing the DCPS system for far too long.

In 2020, a DCPS superintendent--rubber-stamped by the DCPS Chancellor and DC Mayor--in a brazen display of retaliation and corruption, callously fired the principal of the only 4-star ranked DCPS elementary school, east of the Anacostia River, along with several other highly effective Black principals and administrators in Wards 7 and 8, under the guise of poor performance and bogus reduction in force.

These school leaders, all located east of the river, were let go despite their exceptional track records, solely because they refused to kowtow to the superintendent's corruption and controversial and racist program practices demands.

Fast forward to October 2025, the same superintendent admitted to a pay-to-play racket, strong-arming principals into participating in a sleazy scheme that has racked up an astonishing 25 ethics violations that included self enrichment. And yet, despite the principals warning of corruption and disparate treatment expressed in 2019 and an official whistleblower complaint filed in 2020--the superintendent remained in power, blessed by her superiors which included the DC mayor, continuing to wield their influence to silence and sabotage those who dare to speak out against them.

My denial of the Standing Ovation honor is just one clear example of this systemic sabotage. It was a malicious act of revenge, perpetrated by a corrupt superintendent who seeks to punish those who have dared to challenge the Bowser administration's authority.

But this is not just a personal issue; it is a symptom of a broader problem that affects the entire Black community in DC. The systemic sabotage of Black excellence in DCPS is a deliberate attempt to undermine the progress made by Black students and educators, It is a gutless and cowardly act, perpetrated by those who seek to maintain their power and privilege at the expense of others.

Equally outrageous is the total silence of DC's elected officials and local media in the wake of the superintendent's confessed corruption—a gutless betrayal of community trust that shamelessly empowers the crooked superintendent and superiors to escape transparency and accountability.

Yeap, the truth was never supposed to be exposed! But now is the time to rise up and demand transparency and accountability from our elected officials and 2026 candidates. Expose DCPS corruption. Hold the guilty accountable!

Together, we'll build a better future for our kids, communities, and city. RISE UP! EXPOSE THE FILTH! HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE!
